Last night I wanted to make some shortbread cookies. I remember my mom made these alot when I was younger and I always loved them. Mine, however, were not as great as I remember them. I followed the directions exactly and then added just a couple teaspoons of vanilla extract. They were a little too powdery and just no flavor really. They are not horrible, but not that great either. I am bummed. My mom said her recipe uses almond extract so maybe I'll try that next time.
I have been wanting to bake cookies like crazy this week. All I want to do it take a day off work and make cookies all day. Haha. I've never made gingerbread cookies before and have been wanting to try those. I also want to make some sugar cookies and homemade icing and decorate them. They would make great treats for our next family Christmas this weekend and I could give them to everyone in tins as their gift. I doubt I will take a day off, but hopefully I can sqeeze in some baking time the next few evenings and maybe give those shortbread cookies another shot.

You used FAIL... I love it!
Hope you make more cookies that don't fail. Good Luck!
A time saver that I have used when I don't have time to make them from scratch is to just buy the gingerbread and sugar cookie dough.
Kraft foods have tons of recipes for easy yummy cookies. I made shortbread cookies one year and they were awesome. Then the next they didn't taste the same. :(
I did it just for you Stacy! I knew you'd geta kick out of it. LOL.
Hahahaha! I don't know if you remember, but....one time we made cookies at your house. We were about 10. We loaded them with icing, sprinkles, and silvery sugar pellets. They were absolutely dripping with "stuff." I also recall eating them that way. I don't know if they were for Christmas or what, but it was fun.
Oh...I think you should try making those again. I'm sure they would be a big hit. ; )
I do remember those cookies! They were loaded but I'm sure they were good!
Yep I remember it too! What fun you two had!
