Spring Fever

Its that time of year everybody hates. The weather is cold, the wind is bitter, the sky is dull and gray, and spring is just around the corner. Thanks to the last wave of ice and sleet my weekend trip home to El Dorado has been cancelled. So, now we have no plans for the weekend which could be nice I guess. I was looking forward to seeing my dad, my mom is out of town, and hanging out. It will be a few weeks before we have time to go again, at least both of us. But, maybe the weather will be nicer by then. I really hate winter and I'm so over it. Where is the sunshine and warm breezes, the cookouts, walks and laying by the pool? At least February is the last really crappy month and its almost over so hopefully spring is right around the corner. The stores are already bringing out the bright colored shirts and capris. I am feeling the tug to go shopping for cute shoes and clothes for summer and with a boring weekend ahead I don't know if I can be strong much longer. I am tired of staying inside all evening under blankets trying to keep warm. I want to be outside. All the projects we are planning for the house next are outside things so we can't start them yet. Last night we were going to have some steaks, but the grill was frozen shut. Go away Mr. Freeze! Let the sunshine in!
