Update to the missing keys

Read the post below first if you haven't already.

So, I came home for lunch and started ransacking the house agian. Still couldn't find them. I dug out the spare spare key, but it is just a key, no microchip, so it can't start the car just unlock it. This key saves me later though. So anyway, we called the Ford dealership here in town that I visited just last Friday and they told Chris they couldn't program keys for a Mazda. Well, they did just that about 4 years ago after I bought my car and had only one key and remote. I called a Mazda dealership in Wichita and they said the only way they could do anything was to bring it in. Well, the closest dealership is Bentonville, AR, not sure how far away that is but the towing cost would not be pretty. They Mazda guy said well, if you have a Ford place they should be able to do it. I told him they said they couldn't and agian he said they should be able to and he could even send keys to them if they wanted. So, I call the Ford place back and say hey, Mazda said you could do this and you have done it before for me. I was almost in tears telling him that I didn't really want to tow my car to a Mazda place 60 some miles away. He said he would do some checking and call me back. So a few mintues later he calls and said he found where they did do that for me so if I wanted to tow my car in they would try it.
So, finally get the car towed there (which was covered by insurance thank God), and they call me again and said the last key they cut for me was cut from another key and without any key they couldnt' cut one because they don't have the key id. So, the key that just unlocks my car saved me big time. They sent someone out to get it. So I got 2 micro chipped keys and one remote. After the charge for programming, they keys and the remote it was $175!!! But at least I had keys again.

Well the kicker, is that after we got the car towed to Ford and figured out what it was going to cost us, Chris' friend found my keys!!! They were right outside the front door between the step and the side of the house in a bunch of leaves. I am not too upset, because we needed extra keys anyway, since the other spare set went missing. We didn't have the pay the towing so that is good. So, now we have 2 sets of keys with remotes, 1 spare micro chipped key, and the plain key that saved me. I hope I'm good for awhile on forgetting things, losing things, temper tantrums, and giving Ford my money.
