One of my best friends since gradeschool is having a baby in February. Her baby shower was on Sunday right before the Super Bowl and then people could stay and watch the game and eat. So, I headed out to El Dorado Saturday afternoon. I took today off so that I wouldn't have to rush back late last night and then get up early for work. It was a good idea! So anyway, I came in Saturday and my Aunt and cousin were coming over to pick up their computer from my mom. (She fixes them.) So, we ended up having a small family get together with cheeseburgers from Sonic! It was a lot of fun!
Sunday we drove to Colwich for the baby shower. It was so fun to see my friend and her family that I have not seen in forever. They are exactly the same as I remember! We reminisced and talked alot. It was a great shower and I hardly watched any of the game we were so busy talking! My mom and I headed home about half time.
I will be on my way back to Pitt this morning. I probably shouldn't say too much about this but, later today I have to testify in a child custody case. Fun stuff. I am very nervous, but what can I do, I don't have a choice. All I can do is tell the truth. It will still be very nerve wrecking though. I just wish it never even got to this point. I believe that kids need both parents (assuming both are good parents) and in this case they are. So don't both deserve equal time with the kids or is it just me? I truly wish I could have stayed out of this situation and I tried to believe me! But since two people can't agree on what is best for their children, friends and family are forced to get in the middle so that the courts can decide for them. Its very unfortunate and sad, especially for the kids.
