So, I finally got my wish to get outside and work on the yard.
Saturday morning we went the clinic, which was pretty informative, once they got someone to do it. I went up to the counter to tell them we were there for the lawn clinic. I got a blank stare and immediately felt like an idoit. Apparantly, when you sign up on the internet, it doesn't the store know you signed up. Nice, huh. Also, I guess not that many people ever show up for the clinics here so they don't have someone ready to do them unless people show up, like us and then they are scrounging around to find someone to do it. I would think there would be a better way. We felt pretty retarded, but this is something they are supposed to offer and they advertise about them on their website. I don't know why more people don't show up, I mean its FREE!
Anyway, we finally got someone to do the clinic. Basically we just walked around the lawn and garden part of the store and learned about all the different products and what they are used for and when, etc. It was actually pretty informative. We ended up buying some stuff to get us started on the yard.
After lunch at Chili's we spent all afternoon working in the yard raking leaves and using our new detatcher tool. We had 6 big trash bags of leaves and dead grass!! Then we put some turfbuilder with crab grass and weed killer down. There is still alot more to do but, the yard looks so much better already! We were really tired and sore by the end of the day. We ordered pizza because I could hardly stand up my back hurt so bad! I couldn't even think about cooking. Then we crashed early.
Sunday was pretty lazy since we were both still pretty sore. Movies, TV, naps and left over pizza was pretty much our day.

Haha... welcome to the wonderful world of home ownership! I have had MANY days in the yard like this! :)
Yeah...you have me motivated now to work in the lawn next weekend. Weather permitting. And maybe get some pizza, too.
