The Bunk Beds

I just read Stacy's blog about her experience with kids last night. And it made me laugh and think of my experience last night with kids as well. So we went over to see Alex and her two little girls, Hannah and Lilly. They are the cutest little girls. Anyway, they got new bunk beds which must be super exciting when you are little. Hannah wanted to show us how she can climb the ladder to get to her bed and Lilly just likes to try to climb it like her big sister. Well, they have been told its not a toy and its just for bedtime. So, Alex put the ladder under the bed and all of sudden both girls broke out in tears. I had no idea what to do! Hannah is really smart for her age and I tried to talk to Hannah about how Lilly is smaller and likes to do what she does but she is not big enough yet and could get hurt. Yeah, reasoning with a 3 year old doesn't work so well, especially when they are upset. Then we tried to distract her and get her interested in something else. She loves having Chris swing her around in the air so that kind of got her attention. (And Chris is now her boyfriend as of last night.) Luckily we (Alex) got them calmed down pretty quickly and the tantrum didn't last too long. All I have to say is I am glad I wasn't there by myself! Don't worry Stacy, I still need some practice too! Here are Hannah and Lillian:

This is Chris with Hannah. So cute!

Hehe... glad I am not the only one that feels the panic creep up my back, my face get hot and my head spin when I don't know what to do when a kid misbehaves! We will learn and like my mom always says, "It will be easier and different when it is your own"

I know all about kids misbehaving, etc. I think it is definitely different if it is your own. I am one of those teachers who feels the need to correct random children in random places. Hahahahaha! I really have to watch myself.

Speaking of children...talked to Angie tonight. She is expecting her first in September. Someday we will all be moms. Isn't it crazy?
