Everything is going ok, having some ups and downs. I am still fighting with my refrigerator and its only 3 years old! For some reason it won't defrost corrrectly so it builds up ice in the freezer and then can't keep the refrigerator part very cool. We have replaced several parts and still not working. It's very frustrating. They guy is coming tonight after work and hopefully this is the last time or at least he can find out what's really wrong this time.
Got the measurements taken for the countertops this week too, so in a few weeks hopefully they will be in! Then, I can figure out the flooring, paint, and backsplash tile! Here's the pic of the countertop and beleive it or not its laminate!:

I have most of that picked out in my head, but I have to see it with the counterops once they are in before I buy anything. I am so excited and a little nervous about getting them put in. I am just mostly nervous about basically not having a kitchen for a day or two, lol! Finding time to get all the cabinets cleaned out for the workers and the appliances/plumbing out and old countertops removed. I have a friend who is doing the removal and appliances, but I just hope it all goes smoothly and quickly. But we all know how home improvement tends to NOT go smootly and quickly!
I also got a handyman to put the shutters up on the side of the house, and he is going to mow this summer for $25. Not too bad! This is my gift to myself, lol. I hate mowing and figure I have enough to do with everything else.
I am really hopeing for an easy, fun summer with Jackson and family. We'll see... It now looks like Chris might get his visit in August again! Looking forward to taking him on some walks, going swimming, to the zoo maybe, the 4th of July and fireworks, Chris' visit, his 1st bday and lots more I'm sure!

Are the seals tight on your freezer door? That might be part of the problem. If they're a little loose, you can actually rub vaseline on them to make a tight seal. Saw it on lifehacker.
They could probably be better, but the majority of the problem is that the coils in the back of the freezer aren't defrosting and ice builds up on them so air can't get over to cool the fridge side.
We had problems with that when we had our side by side. Can't recall what yours is but we've never had problems with that with our top and bottom set up like we did with the other. Seemed like we had tech's out every couple of months and finally had to get a new fridge because it was so ridiculous! Good luck and I can't wait to see the new counter tops! I have plans for our kitchen but gotta get financing for that project so it won't happen until after Rhy's next surgery lol!
Can't wait to see your countertops! How exciting! :)
