Insurance Sucks
We have some shingles on our roof that have been blowing off when it gets really windy. We finally got around to calling our insurance company about it. So, we get an estimate like they say. Then, they send out their adjuster. The adjuster says, its not bad enough to do anything yet. What!?? We have about 4 feet. on two rows that has come up so far. Apparently, the nails used to put the top layer of shingles on were not long enough to go through both layers. So that is MY fault?! The shingle I have was torn in half, how is that a nail problem? Our inspector when we bought the house said the roof was about 10 years old, but that it was in decent condition. The adjuster said its only 5years old and they rated it a 2. I have no idea what a freaking 2 means, but they said that it had some wear and tear when they looked at it before we bought it. Also, there is mold on the roof too, but guess what, that is not covered. Gee thanks, I'm pregnant and I will just wait for my roof to start leaking and growing mold inside the house so I can breath it in! This is such crap. Why do we have to purchase insurance, when they don't take of problems. This is only going to keep getting worse and costing THEM more money down the road if they don't fix it now. Let's just wait until we have to replace insulation and sheet rock too because its wet and moldy. I asked for another adjuster to come out. I really hope they say something different, because I am going to be there when he comes and I will be ready to rip someone a new one if they say they wont' fix it and will be finding a new insurance company. (Not that the others are that much better.)

If you want to switch I can get the name of ours for you, they came out after all the damage done to the laundry room bc of a bad roof. We didn't even know it was bad until we came home after Rhy's crap and found that the ceiling had collapsed and several things had molded including the ceiling. Anyway, they paid $1200 just for the hide-a-bed that was ancient and all it needed was an upholstery cleaning and it was fine! We ended up getting like $2700 for total repairs and that was only for a 10 by 20 foot room!
Hope things work out and try not to stress too much about it bc baby doesn't need that either :)
Deep breaths my dear. Deep breaths.... : )
